On September 8, Khattab, Sports Minister of Algeria, inspected the Oran Olympic Stadium project undertaken by China 22MCC Group Corporation Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 22MCC Group). Murud, Governor of Oran Province, accompanied him in the inspection.
The delegation inspected the construction progress of the project, and listened to a project report delivered by responsible person. They gained a better understanding of construction stage and risks, and praised highly the progress and current situations. Khattab said that he was pleased and satisfied that the project was proceeding smoothly while ensuring quality in line with schedule of the construction stage. He spoke highly of the interior decoration, the progress and quality of outside roads pavement of Phase I of the Stadium; as for the difficulties and risks facing the construction, he said that he would spare no effort to communicate and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure normal progress.
Khattab said that, as Phase II of the Stadium had begun, he hoped that 22MCC Group continue to ensure quality construction and detailed planning and implementation of Phase II, strengthen manpower and material management on site, and ensure completion in line with due progress and schedule. Government departments will actively cooperate with the company and ensure the successful holding of 2021 Mediterranean Games.
Oran Olympic Stadium project is located in the Economic and Technological Development Zone in the eastern suburbs of Oran City, Algeria. Phase I covers an area of 290,000 m2, including a total building area of 59,000 m2. It consists of a multi-functional main stadium with 40,000 seats, a football training hall with 4,000 seats and ancillary projects, outdoor field, and other buildings. Among which, the main stadium has a building area of 56,100 m2. As the supporting project of the main stadium, Phase II consists of the design, procurement and construction of a water central stadium, a multi-purpose sports stadium with 6,000 seats, and peripheral projects. When Phase II gets completed, it will exist as landmark buildings together with Phase I of the main stadium with 40,000 seats.
