Guo Wenqing Meets Harbin Deputy Party Secretary and Acting Mayor Sun Zhe and Delegation

  On March 16th, Group Company General Manager & Party Group Deputy Secretary and MCC Group President and Party Committee Secretary Guo Wenqing met Harbin Deputy Party Secretary and Acting Mayor Sun Zhe and his delegation. Both sides conducted a thorough exchange regarding strengthening their cooperation.

  Guo Wenqing welcomed Sun Zhe and his delegation and introduced the Group Company’s development situation in recent years, pointing out that on December 8th, 2015, the two Fortune Global 500 companies China Minmetals and the MCC Group implemented a strategic reorganization. China Minmetals’ managed asset scale has subsequently reached RMB 1.68 trillion, it has 200,000 staff members on active duty and it is currently the only government capital investment company in China’s metal mineral field. In 2017, China Minmetals realized operation revenue of RMB 500 billion and profits of RMB 13 billion. In the financial service field, as one of only three central enterprises to hold the full range of finance licenses, China Minmetals possesses strong investment & financing and resource allocation capacity. With its strategic positioning of being the ‘national team of metallurgical construction, the main force of capital construction and the pacesetter of emerging industries’, MCC has first-class technological strength and design and construction capacity in high-end housing construction, transportation and municipal administration, energy conservation and environmental protection, theme parks and other fields.

  Guo Wenqing pointed out that China Minmetals and the MCC Group have always paid close attention to cooperation with local governments. As a key city nationwide, Harbin has huge investment potential and wide development space. China Minmetals and MCC hope to further deepen their cooperation contents, broaden their cooperation fields, create cooperation models and realize mutual benefits and win-win results with Harbin City on the basis of their existing cooperation, thereby making further contributions to realizing the overall revitalization of the Old Northeast Industrial Base.

  Sun Zhe thanked Guo Wenqing for his warm reception and China Minmetals and the MCC Group for their support in the construction and development of Harbin, then introduced the city’s achievements in industry upgrading and incubation, enterprise mergers and reorganizations, mixed ownership reform and other aspects in recent years. He then pointed out that since entering the new century, as the Old Northeast Industrial Base, the development speed in Harbin City has gradually fallen behind that of the eastern coastal regions, but it has good basic urban conditions, mature and scientific supporting facilities, and sufficient technological talents. The Harbin Municipal Party Committee and Government pay close attention to government-enterprise cooperation with China Minmetals and the MCC Group. He hopes that they will carry out overall systematic multi-field cooperation by virtue of China Minmetals’ full financial license advantages, and jointly promote the rapid social and economic development of Harbin City in the future.

  Both sides said they will further strengthen their cooperation in municipal transportation and infrastructure construction, fabricated buildings, theme park construction, health maintenance tourism and other fields, held an exchange and discussion on the specific promotion situation, and engaged with the difficulties and solutions of the current cooperative project.

  The meeting was attended by Harbin Deputy Mayor Wang Yanmin, Group Company Deputy General Manager and Party Group Member Li Fuli, Harbin Municipal Government Secretary-General and General Office Director Fang Zhenghui, Harbin Daowai District Party Committee Deputy Secretary and District Mayor Liu Jing and principals of the Group Company Headquarters’ relevant departments, MCC Group and Minmetals Capital Zhang Mengxing, Ren Zhufeng, Yin Sisong, Xue Fei, Lu Zhifang, Zhou Qing, Guo Zelin and others.
