On December 1st, China Minmetals General Manager and MCC Group President &Party Secretary Guo Wenqing met Hunan Provincial Party Standing Committee Member and Executive ViceGovernor Chen Xiangqun in Beijing MCC Tower. Both sides conducted anin-depth discussion ofMinmetals Non-ferrous Holdings’ copper, lead and zinc industrial base planning, traditional industrial transformation development and such urban infrastructure construction and environmental protection industry matters as urban underground pipe galleries, three-dimensional parking garages and the governance of Dongting Lake.
Guo Wenqing extended a warm welcome to Vice GovernorChen Xiangqun and his delegation. Both sides jointly heardthe case report of Minmetals Non-ferrous Holdings’ industrial base planning and transformation &upgrading development. Guo Wenqing said that Minmetals Non-ferrous Holdings is a bellwether in the field of the non-ferrous industry in Hunan, and it will actively promote supply-side reform in the future. It will not only achieve the goal of governing the pollution of Xiangjiang River in Hunan, but also reduce pollutant discharge in the province and benefit the environmental governance of Hunan through capacity clearing and the upgrading & rebuilding of old industrial bases. At the same time, it will stimulate the economic development of one side, create jobs for the personnel of one side and benefit the economic development and social stability of Hunan Province through base construction. He hopes that the Hunan Provincial Government willprovide necessary funds and policy support for Minmetals Non-ferrous Holdings. He stressed that Minmetals' Peru Bambas Copper Mines and Aynak Copper Mines can be used as aresource supply for the future copper, lead and zinc base under the conditions of the shortage of national copper resources.
Guo Wenqing pointed out that the new China Minmetals attaches great importance to business development in Hunan, and is willing to further strengthen its cooperation with the Province. He hopes that the Hunan Provincial Government willcontinue to provide strong support, further deepen such business cooperation as urban underground pipe galleries, three-dimensional parking garages and the governanceof Dongting Lake on the basis of the existing cooperation, and accelerate the landing of relevant projects.
Chen Xiangqun said that Hunan Province is willing to further deepen its cooperation with the new China Minmetals, work together to complete solutions and accelerate its strategic cooperation by grasping the chance of structural adjustment and transformation and upgrading. The Provincial Government will provide the necessary funds and policy support for Minmetals Non-ferrous Holding’s copper, lead and zinc industrial base in accordance with the relevant provisions, accelerate its docking with MCC Group on urban infrastructure construction and the environmental protection industry, give policy preference and further promote the landing of projects. He hopes that MCC Group will form a business team to hold talks concerningspecific items in Hunan, and implement projects in every city of theProvince.
